Things I Like

I’m considering a lamp on the kitchen counter for some added light to the prep area. This little number caught my eye and I am in love! I think it needs to leave Target and come to my house right away.

Add this to things I can’t live without:

LOST

We started watching this a few months ago on netflix instant play. We were hooked within the first couple of minutes. We had been mourning the ending of Battlestar Gallactica, and we didn’t think anything would cure that empty feeling. We were wrong. We just started season 4, and we are still loving it! We are hoping to finish season 5 before Season 6, the final season starts in January. We are pretty confident we will be watching the finally with the rest of America. BUT just when I thought I was over the pain of Battlestar Gallactica, they go and throw this at me….

UGH!!! Don’t think for a minute that it is anywhere but the number one spot on our netflix queue!!

My mom gave me a clematis this year for my birthday. Since I’m 30 now I guess I needed an awesome gift!

It bloomed this week.

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I had went shopping, and then promised to post pictures. I am just now getting around to coming through with that promise.  I  went to a local decor store that is only open one day a week.  I have been to this store quite a few times, but this is the first time I have actually walked away with anything. I’m a VERY picky shopper. If  I don’t absolutely love something, I will not buy it.  It drives Jason insane, but he understands. He doesn’t like to look at something he only kind of likes either. We also don’t like knowing we spent precious money on a ’kind of like’.   So, when I saw this clock and I fell in love, I knew I needed to purchase it. Immediately. SO I did and I got the last one of the day!!  Hooray!   It was exactly what I was looking for for this space.  The space above my cupboards in my kitchen.

I still don’t know what I want for the other wall. It may be 4 years before I ever find what I want.  I’m sure I can wait.

When we  moved here we quickly realized we didn’t have as much kitchen storage as we had in the old house.  I guess we traded kitchen space for 300 sq ft more  all around.  Hmmm.  Well anyways we went to Walmart and bought this little cart.

It serves it’s purpose, but it’s rather plain, but I do my best. It matches our boring cabnets perfectly so no big deal.
Well we recently get rid of our computer desk because we no longer have a desktop computer. We also turned that room into Bam’s room. We still had the issue of our printer, scanner, modem, and all that other computer paraphernalia. It has been sitting a on book shelf in out bedroom looking a little weird.  Jason and I got to thinking that we need a little ’station’ for all that stuff.  That little cart seemed like the best the choice. So after some measuring and price shopping we decided to get another cart.  But the really boring color might work for the kitchen, but it will not match the pretty theme I’m working on in the bedroom. My bed set  is a dark wood. So we got crafty!  We bought a second cart and Jason painted it black. I helped sand, but I mostly just watched. That’s what I’m best at.  100_3910

It has a little bit of the worn look and I like that. There was a drawer piece that was broken so we have to call that number to get a replacement piece, but you get the gist of it. We choose not to put the wheels on, but to put little gliders on instead.  We are so excited to how nice it looks, and so different!  I love it!

So after yesterdays blog I got to thinking about that boring wall in my kitchen.  I have ideas on what I like and want, but my budget doesn’t always match my desires.  So I figured I would just blog about them instead.  SO I am starting a new category called Things I Like: a free way to enjoy things I   want and can’t afford.   Well some of the things I might be able to afford, but you get the idea.
