February 2009

So I saw this cute little survey on a few different websites, and I got to thinking, I would like to journal my boys answers to have when the are grown and I’m old and lonely.  A little piece of their young thoughts. I just asked the question and typed exactly what they said.  I was quite surprised to see that some were  answered right away and others they had to think over. Very interesting to see myself through my boys’ eyes.   Also because they are boys, they had to answer with the shortest answer possible. Neither one put any explanation to any answer. They gave the answer and moved on.  Boys!  I also noticed that Bam answered as if we were talking about someone else. He always said ’she’ and ‘her, whereas Fred answered directly to me with ‘you’ or ‘your’. I don’t know what that means.  Anyways……

Why oh why have I given up pop? It was a foolish choice. I need it so bad. Ughhhhh!! I don’t know if I am strong enough. Can you hear my tears?? I want a pepsi soooooo bad!!!

But I will not give in. It’s only day 2 for crying out loud. Only 38 to go. I am strong enough. I’m tough. Also I still have coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.

And I went shopping today. that always makes me feel better. Pictures to come later.

Last year I posted about lent.  To sum it up quickly, I did terribly. I think the reason I did do so poorly was because I did to much. So this year I’m going to try again, but with a different mind set. Not how much can I sacrifice to ready my heart for Easter, but how can I truly sacrifice?   As I was deliberating this decision I got to thinking about  my New Years goals.  Those goals I set for myself are hard for me. Really hard.  So, I know that if I were to focus for a forty-day long time period on ONE thing, that would be a serious sacrifice for me.  SOOOOOO I have decided that I will give up all pop for 40 days.  FORTY DAYS!!!!   OH MY GOSH.  This is going to be hard.

pepsi1

I love the contents of this little can so much. Better yet I LOVE it when it comes from the fountain at a gas station.

Dear Pepsi, I will miss you,but you need to go away for 40 days, and then after that you only need to visit every so often.  But always remember that I love you.

PS: Your so much better than Coke. Period. Don’t let anyone tell you differently.

it is sooooo nice to have nothing planned, and to stay in your pajama’s all day long. With your family doing the same exact thing.

Second Born

Since I’m all about equal opportunity, I thought I’d do this little meme for Bam too.  I’m sure it might have a little something to do with being a second born myself, and not liking to be left out.

I took it to my friends house while Jason was at work and we sat and stared at it all afternoon while talking about baby names, eve thought we already had 2 picked out.  I bought a second test, an early response type,  on the way home… with a bottle of pepsi and a few other things to make it not look so wierd. The cashier told me good luck after I was done paying!  I came home and Jason was already home. I could not wait until morning, so I went quietly into the bathroom and tested, and when I took the very postive test to Jason, he just shrugged and said he already knew. To this day I don’t know why I spent so much money on all those tests when Jason is a walking pregancy test.

5. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? After trying for almost 1 and half years, Jason and I went grocery shopping one September evening. While on the lady item isle Jason grabbed a pregnancy test and tossed it in the cart.  I almost started crying and put it back on the shelf. I told him I couldn’t possibly see another negative, and I was done taking tests. He put it back in the cart and said he had a feeling. So when we got home I went and took the test and then started putting groceries away (after I washed my hands, don’t worry).  I was sitting on the couch watching tv when Jason asked me what it said. I had forgotten all about it! I went into the bathroom, looked and almost passed out!  It was positive. I was sure I had done something wrong.  Jason said he already knew after I showed him.

january-014

I love to read. I tend to get a little wrapped up in most books. My kids don’t get to eat real meals until the last page of the book has been read. Serious neglect happens when I have my nose in a book. Since going back to work my reading time has dramaticly been scaled back. This saddens me greatly, but I really like to sleep, and I have to choose one or another. I have noticed lately that I’m really not finding anything that sparks my interest. I might be willing to go out on a limb and read something not in my ‘normal’ genres. So my question to you blog readers, what books should I check out. I’m open to your suggestions.

I spent the day after Valentines Day nursing a huge hangover. By Monday I was feeling better and headed of to school.  It had become my daily habit to arrive at school a little early so I could check my email. This day was no different. As the computer warmed up and logged on I was feeling a lot better than I had on Saturday night. My pity party was over. As my inbox was opening I saw that I had an email from Jason. He had send it at 3:30 Friday night.  I had checked my email last at about 3:20,  just 10 minutes before he sent his. I clicked on it and read. I was stunned into a stupor. I think I must have read it 10 times before it sunk in.  He has said that if I were to get stood up on Saturday and I was alone in another town, he wanted me to call him and he would come get me. I had no idea what to think. What did that mean? Was he serious? What about La Femme Nikita?  What was he talking about?  I think I retained no educational information for the rest of the day.

**I know it has taken me awhile to write the next installment of our story, but we are getting close to the part that I’m not so proud of.  But you know I’ve done a lot of things that make me cringe and want to forget about.  But I know that Jesus can forgive a whole lot of things, and he has. So I will finish telling my story and you can judge me if you want. I refuse to censor myself, but I will be  leaving some of  the details out….**

After the February drill Jerk-Boy and I started to plan a Valentine’s date. Valentines was on a Saturday that year. We were going to meet in a town halfway between mine and his.  I called around for a hotel room, and did a search for restaurants and movies. It seemed like we both wanted to spend some quality time together. But the whole time I was planning this ‘romantic getaway’ all I could think about was Jason.  I was starting to feel really guilty. The guilt left very quickly when the day before Valentines I got a call from Jerk-Boy himself and canceled on me. He said he had an emergency drill to attend that weekend.  You would think I would have been miserable. I was. I was miserable that I was home alone and I knew Jason was going out with La Femme Nikita. I called him Saturday afternoon. I had some dumb excuse about a concert that was coming up and I wanted information about it.  I had no plans at all on going, but my friend convinced me it was a prefect reason to call. I couldn’t tell by his voice if he was glad I called or if I was just some kid bugging him while he was busy.  I did learn that yes indeed he was still planning on spending the evening with La Femme. He asked why I wasn’t with Jerk-boy, and I explained it and tried to play it off. The whole conversation lasted no more than 10 minutes. And it made my day oh so much more miserable. So I did what everyone does when they are miserable. I went to a party and got drunk. I was drunk and watched a whole lot of Nine Inch Nails videos.  That is not a combination I would suggest doing. Ugh.   I also cried a lot.  I hated that La Femme. I hated her a lot.

When we  moved here we quickly realized we didn’t have as much kitchen storage as we had in the old house.  I guess we traded kitchen space for 300 sq ft more  all around.  Hmmm.  Well anyways we went to Walmart and bought this little cart.

It serves it’s purpose, but it’s rather plain, but I do my best. It matches our boring cabnets perfectly so no big deal.
Well we recently get rid of our computer desk because we no longer have a desktop computer. We also turned that room into Bam’s room. We still had the issue of our printer, scanner, modem, and all that other computer paraphernalia. It has been sitting a on book shelf in out bedroom looking a little weird.  Jason and I got to thinking that we need a little ’station’ for all that stuff.  That little cart seemed like the best the choice. So after some measuring and price shopping we decided to get another cart.  But the really boring color might work for the kitchen, but it will not match the pretty theme I’m working on in the bedroom. My bed set  is a dark wood. So we got crafty!  We bought a second cart and Jason painted it black. I helped sand, but I mostly just watched. That’s what I’m best at.  100_3910

It has a little bit of the worn look and I like that. There was a drawer piece that was broken so we have to call that number to get a replacement piece, but you get the gist of it. We choose not to put the wheels on, but to put little gliders on instead.  We are so excited to how nice it looks, and so different!  I love it!
